Catherine Rimmer offers Psychosynthesis counselling in West London and SE1 for anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, addiction and more. Free consultation.
Anxiety & Stress
Anxiety can show up in many forms — a persistent low hum of worry, sudden panic, physical tension, or a sense of dread that is hard to name. In our sessions we can explore what lies beneath the anxiety, understand its roots, and gradually loosen its hold so that life feels less overwhelming and more navigable.
Depression
Depression can leave us feeling flat, disconnected, or as though we are moving through the world behind glass. It can be hard to ask for help when energy itself feels depleted. Therapy offers a gentle, unhurried space to begin to understand what the depression may be expressing, and to find a way back towards yourself.
Self-Esteem
A fragile sense of self-worth can colour every area of life — how we relate to others, how we work, how we speak to ourselves in quiet moments. Together we can explore where these beliefs about yourself began, and work towards a more compassionate and grounded relationship with who you are.
Gender Identity
Questions of gender identity can bring up profound feelings — about belonging, about how we are seen by others, and about our relationship with our own body and sense of self. I offer a non-judgmental, affirming space to explore these questions at whatever pace feels right for you.
Addiction
Addictive patterns — whether to substances, behaviours or relationships — are often a response to pain that has not yet found another outlet. Rather than focusing solely on the behaviour itself, I am interested in understanding what need it has been meeting, and in supporting you to find more nourishing ways to meet that need.
RelationshipDifficulties
Our relationships — with partners, family members, friends and colleagues — can be among the greatest sources of both joy and pain. Therapy can help you understand your patterns in relationships, where they come from, and how you might begin to relate to others, and yourself, in a more fulfilling way.
Family Concerns
Family dynamics can be complex and long-standing, and their effects often reach far into our adult lives. Whether you are navigating a difficult family situation now, or seeking to understand the impact of your earlier experiences, I can offer a supportive space in which to explore this.
Career & Life Choices
Moments of transition — a career change, a crossroads, a loss of direction or meaning in work — can be deeply unsettling. Sometimes what looks like a practical question is also an existential one: who am I, and what do I want my life to be? These are exactly the kinds of questions therapy is well suited to explore.
Meaning & Spirituality
Questions of meaning, purpose and spirituality are central to the Psychosynthesis approach. If you find yourself grappling with what your life is for, with a sense of spiritual longing or disconnection, or with experiences that don't fit neatly into everyday frameworks, I welcome these conversations wholeheartedly.
If something here resonates, I would be glad to hear from you. I offer a free initial phone consultation so that we can explore together whether working with me feels like the right fit. There is no obligation — it is simply a conversation.
